Tanner Kidd’s interest in design was fostered from a young age.  She spent Saturdays gallery hopping with her mother Sue, an avid contemporary art collector.  Sundays on the job-site with her dad, a custom home builder.  Tanner merged these two influences to create a practice focused on practicality, intrigue, and interest.  A passion for beauty and quality guiding all she does.

After completing school in Toronto, Kidd earned her degree from Thompson Rivers University, double majoring in marketing and management with an additional diploma in event operations. She has extensive experience in luxury fashion retail and buying, design and marketing in the realm of real estate development and has worked closely with a Toronto and UK-based interior designer.

She founded her own design firm, Kidd Studio, in 2013. As a residential and commercial interior designer, Kidd’s spaces reflect the intersection of her lifelong passions: design and art. Her thoughtful spaces crafted with comfort and personality in mind, also serve as backdrops for modern life lived in the company of art.

Kidd has served on The Canadian Art Foundation’s board of directors and in 2021 joined the board of Capture Photography Festival in Vancouver. Kidd has sat on a number of committees for fundraising events including Mercer Union’s 40th anniversary (co-chair) and The Canadian Art Social. She’s also a member of The Power Plant Contemporary Art Gallery’s Circle of Contemporaries. Kidd has appeared on Toronto Life’s Best Dressed list and has been profiled in The Globe and Mail. She resides in Toronto’s Deer Park neighbourhood with her Goldendoodle, Cooper.
